Benadryl Weekend!

We had a busy weekend planned ... needing to drive to Eau Claire for my sisters baby shower, we decided to go to keep going another hour and hit the Mall of America and the Water park. We planned to leave early Saturday morning. After the van was packed to go, Todd went to get Liam to put into the van ... he called for me rather urgently .... when I came into Liams room ... and looked at my beautiful boy .... I realized that his right eye was COMPLETELY swollen shut! YIKES! He apparently had an allergic reaction to a bug bite. Of course, I had no Benadryl since I had dumped my last bottle due to it being recalled and also the fact that Liam goes CRAZY on it:) But, I certainly needed it now. So we quickly got in the van ... went to Wally World and Todd ran in to get Benadryl and Hydrocortizone ... while I called the nurse to be sure we were doing the right thing. PS ... we were trying to ice it also ... 2-year olds are NOT fans of ice on the eye. We continued with our weekend plans ... although starting out a bit late. Poor Liam really struggled with one eye ... falling a few times (hard) throughout the day. We felt so bad for him ...

Today, he is a bit better ... we can at least see part of his eye ... but, continues to have some swelling. Needless to say ... I now have Benadryl on hand ... and will be watching him rather closely in the future for allergic reactions.

He still is pretty cute though!!!
